    1. One of our worst fears realized today, we were running to catch a train transfer and our 5yo got on and the doors immediately closed behind him.

    His face looking back at me—I'll never forget the terror in it. A man jumped up and I look him straight in the eye and say, "Next stop! Next stop!" We've talked to him about what to do, and he executed to a T.

      After the initial freakout from our 3yo and us as parents we pressed the emergency help button on the platform and the responders informed us he was already waiting with some kind people at the next stop's MTA booth.

        Never have I felt more afraid and elated at the same to live in this city. No more rushing to get on trains or buses for our family.

          Our 3yo on the other hand, who has always had a hard time holding our hands and staying right with us because he's so independent will not let go of us now.

            Our plan if you'd like to know: find a mom or dad with kids and ask them to wait with you at the next stop. So proud of him and relieved it's over.
